- The ski resort in Jaworzyna Krynicka is one of the most interesting in Poland
The ski resort in Jaworzyna Krynicka is one of the most interesting in Poland. It has varied routes, extensive dining facilities and good service at the foot of the slope. And nowhere do they give such a delicious oscypek cheese with cranberries as here.
The gondola lift to Jaworzyna Krynickahas been bringing tourists and skiers to the summit for several years now. There were always a lot of people here. The proximity of a large resort - Krynica Górska meant that the highest peak in the area (1,114 m) was visited by hikers traversing the trails of the Beskid Sądecki and holidaymakers who were tempted by a real mountain adventure. They visited a shelter located slightly below the summit, looked at the vast panorama from the highest peaks of the Low Beskids in the east to the jagged ridge of the Tatra Mountains in the southwest. And that's it. They continued on their way or returned to their holiday resort for a late lunch.

It's different now. A few minutes of travel in a gondola is enough to put your foot on the top. Well, you still have to pay. A single trip there and back in the summer costs PLN 26 (reduced price: PLN 21). Despite the price, there are often lines in front of the line.
In winter, especially when there is snow, skiers rule in Jaworzyna Krynicka. Every now and then the gondola lets out six people on the top. Most of them speed down more than two and a half kilometers long. It is all snowed and illuminated. It is the longest slope in Poland, where you can also ride after dark.
The main route is quite easy, although it is marked in red, which means that it is classified as medium difficult. The top is mirrored by the T-bar for the less advanced (blue route). This section is 650 m long. It's not much, but sometimes it is the best-kept section of the slope.
There is quite a flat section of the route below, you need to get faster to cross it without working with sticks. Finally, it gets a bit steeper at the very end, above the lower gondola station. It can be difficult here, especially when it freezes and becomes ice.

The main slope in Jaworzyna has FIS approval for a family run. Similarly, the slopes marked with numbers II and IIA. They are located on the southern slope, they are wide, gentle and relaxing. There are two ski lifts here, over 1,800 m long in total. This slope is connected to the main route (No. IV) and an additional lift is put into operation.
But what would a trip to Jaworzyna be without a strength test on route No. V: black, with FIS approval for slalom. The slope is 1,000 meters long and has an average slope of 32%. You can fight a bit here. When it is well prepared, skilled skiers will find a lot of fun on it. Well, unfortunately it is often closed.
The ski resort in Jaworzyna Krynicka is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting in Poland. It has various routes and extensive dining facilities (I recommend oscypek baked with bacon plus cranberries at the bar to the left of the exit from the upper cable car station). Downstairs, the service, ski rental and shops are working efficiently. There is also an ATM near the cash registers.
And all this with a real resort in the background. There is accommodation available in Krynica for every budget: from luxurious sanatoriums and SPA centers (for example those at the foot of Jaworzyna in Czarny Potok) to inexpensive agritourism accommodation on the outskirts of the city and in nearby villages. There are plenty of restaurants and cheap bars in the center. There is a place to sleep, what to eat and what to do after skiing.
