The history of the town dates back to 1593, when, at the request of Jan Zamoyski, the second hunting zoo in Poland with a magnificent larch manor was established here. The Zamoyski family hosted outstanding guests here: Władysław IV, Jan Kazimierz, the love of Marysieńka and Jan Sobieski flourished in Zwierzyniec.
