Diaper pants, anatomical inserts, anatomical diapers, absorbent panties, pads and sheets, i.e. absorbing (absorbing) agents, are auxiliary products for which you can obtain reimbursement from the National He alth Fund. The reimbursement is understood as the possibility of purchasing products, the cost of which is partially or fully covered by the National He alth Fund.
Diaper pants , anatomical inserts, anatomical diapers, absorbent panties, underlays and sheets, i.e. absorbents, have long been reimbursed by the National He alth Fund.
From March 3, 2022, a new ordinance of the Minister of He alth is in force, which increases the limit of absorbing agents from 60 to 90 items per month.
Unfortunately, the Ministry of He alth did not increase the value limit. With 60 items of absorbents, the value limit was PLN 90, which meant that for PLN 90 someone could buy the right amount of, for example, inserts and pay PLN 27. In other words, the patient paid 30% and the state paid 70%.
Theoretically, you can buy more absorbents, but you will have to pay more, because the level of funding from the National He alth Fund has remained at the old level, i.e. PLN 77 for oncological patients and PLN 63 for other patients.
Military invalids, war invalids and victimized persons have the right to purchase medical devices free of charge up to the limit. However, they must enclose a photocopy of the identity card entitling to 100% reimbursement to the order submitted at the NFZ branch. Without this, no refund will be given.
Absorbers: How do I get a refund?
To use the refund, please:
1. Go to the doctor who will write out the first order. The order may be issued by a doctor who has a contract with the National He alth Fund. Eligible for this are general surgeons, oncology surgeons, oncologists, geriatricians, gynecologists, oncology gynecologists, neurologists, urologists, primary care physicians, doctors providing palliative and hospice care services, and he alth insurance assistants.
2. The order received should be confirmed at the NFZ branch competent for the place of residence. Confirmation can be obtained in person, by mail or by proxy. The NHF branch will issue a monthly supply card when confirming the first order.
3. Based onof the obtained documents, you can purchase the selected absorbent in any pharmacy that has signed a cooperation agreement with the NHF branch.
Types of absorbent agents
- Anatomical (urological) insoles
Anatomical (urological) insoles are intended for people with low and medium degree of NTM, with mobility and leading an active lifestyle.
Anatomical insoles contain an absorbent material (stores urine away from the skin) and are diversified in terms of the degree of absorption: from mini (absorb more than 100 ml) to super insoles (more than 500 ml).
The anatomical insoles also contain a substance that reduces the formation of unpleasant odors.
Inserts for women resemble an ordinary sanitary napkin, but are more absorbent. They have adhesive tape that you can attach to your underwear.
The inserts for men are a type of pocket that is attached to the panties with a sticky tape.
- Anatomical diapers
Anatomical diapers - intended for people with an average and high degree of NTM, fit and leading an active lifestyle.
The anatomical diapers have an absorbent material and are available with different absorption levels (up to 1800 ml).
The anatomical diaper looks like a large insert, but has a much larger surface that prevents urine (including faeces) from passing through.
It can be used together with special elastic panties that keep the diaper in the right place and prevent urine from leaking out.
- Diaper pants
Diaper pants - intended for people with very high NTM intensity, with limited physical fitness (lying down) or those who may unknowingly remove an ordinary anatomical diaper.
The diaper pants have an absorbent material and are available in various sizes. They also have different levels of absorption. They are attached around the hips with special adhesives.
- Absorbent pants
Absorbent panties - they are thinner than anatomical diapers or pant diapers, but have a much higher absorbency (over 100 ml). These are breathable panties (no foil is used for production) with an absorbent insert attached to the crotch. They are put on like ordinary panties.
- Sleepers and sheets
Underlays and sheets - available in various sizes. They protect the sheets or mattresses from getting dirty. These products do not pass urine outside, but also do not keep it in deeper layers, so they do not isolate from itskin.
It is worth remembering that within the due limit, you can use various types of auxiliary products. For example, you can collect, for example, the limits of 90 pieces, 30 pieces of absorbent panties and 60 pieces of diaper pants or anatomical inserts.
To have a guarantee that we will be able to choose absorbents to suit our needs, ask the doctor to write in the place where the medical device is specified - diaper pants or alternatively.
