Pursuant to the provisions of the Act, in 2012 the cost of, for example, only oneorthopedic shoe ,insulin pumpwill be reimbursed to patients up to 26 years of age ,of a wheelchairup to PLN 1,500 or dentures up to the amount of approx. PLN 3,000 PLN.
- The insulin pump will be owed "for free" only to patients up to the age of 26, others should finance it themselves.
- People after removal of lymph nodes cannot count on the reimbursement of compression sleeves, which are necessary inrehabilitation- without them, swelling complicating recovery arise. The cost of such a sleeve is about PLN 600.
- The reimbursement basket does not include compression tights, which are necessary for the treatment of venous insufficiency of the lower limbs - the main cause of thrombosis and the related fatal embolism.
- Patients after injuries will also have problems with reimbursed products, as they will bear some of the costs themselves. The limb prosthesis refund limit is 2.8 thousand. PLN, while the price of a simple prosthesis is the cost of 8-10 thousand. PLN, and in the case of more advanced prostheses, the costs can be even tens of thousands of PLN.
- The same applies towheelchairs . The amount of the refund is PLN 1,500 once every 5 years. In this amount, you can buy the cheapest stroller made in China, which, according to patients, lasts only less than a year of use, and then falls apart.
- The National He alth Fund will also save on the hearing impaired. Admittedly, it will not do it in an open manner, but it will make it much more difficult to receive a recording for a camera for the other ear. In order to receive it, it is not enough to visit an ENT specialist, it is necessary to see an audiologist, and these specialists are few. Some patients, especially the elderly, will not be able to reach an audiologist and will resign from improving the quality of hearing to the other ear, and the money will remain in the National He alth Fund.
- NFZ debated for a long time with the Ministry of He alth about the reimbursement of orthopedic shoes. It is true that it was agreed toreimbursement of the cost of two shoes, but the amount of the refund remained the same. It amounts to PLN 150, and a pair of orthopedic shoes is PLN 300, which means that the National He alth Fund will refund one shoe.
The reimbursement basket contains almost the same amounts for ten years, with the cost of any assistance for disabled people rising significantly, and VAT on medicinal products has been introduced in the meantime. In addition, each order must be confirmed by an official of the National He alth Fund, which is why in many provinces there are very long queues, and you have to wait a long time for a wheelchair or prosthesis.
