Women's jackets can rejuvenate and add style and elegance to your outfit. Choosing the right jacket for your age is not so difficult. In fact, some universal rules apply to all women regardless of age. To make it even more interesting - by following them, you can visually rejuvenate yourself. Not to mention the image benefits of a perfectly created stylization.
Women's jackets and jackets - what
In everyday language, both a jacket and a women's jacket mean the same thing in practice. Bigger differences can be discovered by going back to the history of these costumes. Originally, the jacket was a type of fitted men's jacket, which was distinguished by narrow lapels and semicircular truncated skirts. It was worn as a ceremonial garment, but less formal than even a tailcoat. When it comes to women's costumes, the jacket appeared only at the end of the 19th century as the upper part of the costume modeled on a men's jacket.
What about the jacket? It has a longer history, dating back to the 18th century. Then it had the form of a jacket with short sleeves, which was put on under a redingot (a kind of light, long, delicately indented men's coat). It did not spread until the mid-nineteenth century, in a shape that has roughly survived to this day. An interesting fact is that for a long time it was treated as a … sloppy outfit. It wasn't until the beginning of the 20th century that changes took place.
Jackets for mature - where are the mistakes?
Suits are often treated as uninteresting sets that can add years. This also happens if common mistakes in selecting them are not avoided. Heresome of them:
- Color
Black and other "heavy" colors can visually add years. Therefore, it is worth taking an interest in brighter, more vivid colors - especially a wide palette of pastels.
- Typeface
A mismatched suit often translates into a seemingly sloppy and years-old styling. First of all, the jacket and skirt or pants should be well matched to the figure. You also do not have to be afraid of more interesting styles. They are the ones that can visually rejuvenate.
- Length
It's also easy to make mistakes here. It is about the length of the jacket itself and, for example, the sleeves.
Mature jackets and body type
- Pear silhouette
First of all, you should focus on the shoulder line. Jackets with wide lapels made of stiffened materials will be useful. Pillows, ruffles and puffs also work well in this zone. A distinct waistline will allow you to "cover" your wide hips.
- Apple silhouette
A single-breasted jacket with stiffened shoulders will be perfect - this way the waist will seem optically narrower. Box cuts are not recommended, because under them the figure will practically … disappear. Fitted jackets slightly flared at the hip line, as well as with stripes and cuffs at the waist line work well.
- Hourglass silhouette
It is best to choose short jackets that fit the figure - this way you will be able to emphasize the feminine shapes. Long double-breasted jackets are not recommended, because the figure's best assets may "disappear" under them!
- Column silhouette
The jacket is a perfect outfit for this type of figure. Virtually all fashionable cuts fit it. You can boldly add volume by choosing larger materials and interesting decorations. If you want to emphasize the legs, choose a long jacket with a fastening at the hip line.
Jackets for mature - rejuvenating colors
Dark colors are a fashion classic, but in the case of mature ladies, they can add age excessively. That is why it is worth trying cooler and brighter colors.
- Violet
Preferably in a pastel version, i.e. lilac and lavender colors. Perfect for business and formal styling, it suits any type of beauty and any hair color (fantastic with gray hair!). In addition, you can easily choose accessories for it.
- Cool blue
Optically light and fresh, it suits virtually any complexion and any hair color. As in the case of purple, it is easy to put together accessories.
- Other pastel colors
Here it is worth mentioning cool mint, pistachio green, powder pink, ocher, platinum gray.
Contrary to appearances, these colors are not only a choice for the spring-summer season. In warmer months, it is enough to take care of thick fabrics (e.g. tweed).
Jackets for mature people and hair color
The color can also be matched to the color of the hair. This will ensure impeccable, harmonious styling, and thanks to this, it will take years away!
- Szatynki
Burgundy, plum violet, graphite, bottle green work great.
- brunettes
Recommended colors are scarlet red, anthracite gray, paris blue, light green, blueberry violet.
- Blondes
Mature ladies with lighter hair should choose purple, burgundy, sea green and ashen.
- Gray hair
The aforementioned purples and blues will be perfect, but also navy blue, emerald and sea green, cornflower, honey and burgundy.
Black jacket for ladies 50+ and 60+
Although black is very universal and always elegant, it can, unfortunately, optically add years. This does not mean, however, that you have to give it up completely. It is enough for the black jacket to be varied with details in other colors. These can be, for example, beige or blue prints (stripes, stripes, check), contrasting trimmings (white, silver) or thread stitching in a different color (preferably pastel).
Black is very gentle and elegant, broken with purple or coral red. You can also pay attention to jackets in black melange or slightly diluted. Bolder ladies can also be tempted by more expressive details on the black jacket, such as sumptuous copper buttons, geometric gold embroidery on a large collar or silver eco-leather cuffs.
Jackets for mature - attractive cuts and lengths
A well-fitting and comfortable jacket in a fashionable color will effectively refresh the outfit and take years away. How long should it be? Ideally, it should end slightly above the widest point at the hips. Tailored jackets look great, because they adequately emphasize the strengths of the figure.
You should also pay attention to the length of the sleeves. 3/4 lengths are recommended, and in the case of full sleeves - ending at or above the wrist line (this way the slim appearance of the hands is emphasized).
Mature ladies should not be afraid of more interesting cuts, decorative details ( although in moderation!) And modern lines. It is with such details that you can get nice opticallyrejuvenate.
