Most often, hearing loss occurs in everyday situations: by speaking too loudly or by setting the TV volume higher than usual.

The cause of conductive hearing loss may be, for example, excess earwax, perforation of the eardrum, otitis media. It starts with getting worse and worse hearing of low sounds. The accompanying symptom is tinnitus. Over time, the higher pitches also begin to fade.

There are irreversible changes. But if you detect hearing loss early, you can stop it. That is why it is worth doing a hearing test once a year so as not to miss the moment when it is not too late. Even with mild hearing loss, a hearing aid is the best solution. It improves the quality of perceived sounds, but also - which is equally important - slows down the degeneration of the hearing organ.

Digitization has led to a great technological breakthrough in hearing care. It started in 1997, when the first microcomputer for sound processing was constructed, which analyzes sound type (speech, music, etc.) in a second, narrows or widens the hearing zone, sharpening what is important and suppressing unnecessary background.

Such hearing aids not only amplify sounds, so that the patient does not lose contact with the environment. They are also rehabilitation devices - they train the hearing organ and stimulate the auditory nerves, protecting against complete deafness.

After the examination, which determines the type of hearing loss and specifies it, the prosthetist selects the appropriate device, taking into account the patient's aesthetic requirements. The selected camera is then computer-programmed using specialized fitting programs. The prosthetist "fine-tunes" the appliance based on a curve that is individual for each patientaudiometric (pitch and volume).
