Make-up of mature skin - well done, of course - is almost an art. Women in their twenties or thirty can make up their makeup unskillfully, and they will still look nice in most cases, because their advantage is smooth, firm skin and a regular oval of the face.

But over the years, wrinkles, crow's feet, dimples, discoloration and spots appear. The contours of the face begin to blur, and the eyelids and corners of the mouth droop. Badly applied make-up additionally emphasizes these imperfections, although we do make-up to hide them.

It often happens that ladies who used to be fond of makeup used intense shadows and blushes, now notice that these colors do not suit them anymore. Natural and neutral shades work well for mature women. Many women in their 50s or 60s simply stop wearing makeup because they think makeup adds years to them.

Meanwhile, the problem is that what once looked great doesn't work anymore. So how to make mature makeup so that it is rejuvenating, refreshing, and just to look beautiful?

Make-up for mature skin: step by step

Step one: care

The skin of a mature woman is not as elastic and firm as ten or twenty years ago. Now you need to focus more on moisturizing and nourishing the skin. So?

Moisturize cream first. We use a moisturizing cream selected according to age. In the morning - day cream, in the evening - for the night. Before we apply the cream, of course, you need to remember carefullycleansing the face, and once a week it is also worth applying a peeling to get rid of dead skin.

For face care, choose firming and strongly regenerating cosmetics, rich in retinol, vitamin C, collagen, coenzyme Q10 and hyaluronic acid, but at the same time delicate, not weighing down the skin. But remember not to overdo it. The complexion is not equal and not every woman needs this hydration as much. If your skin produces a lot of sebum, you should rather use matting creams.

Step two: foundation

But not directly on the cream! Base first. The make-up base will even out the skin tone, reduce discoloration and redness, and make the foundation and other cosmetics stick better. It can be applied only in places with the most imperfections. Use a properly selected brush, quite hard, or simply apply the base with your fingers.

Time for a foundation. A radiant foundation is a good solution (for most ladies, but not all - see note above). Choose products with a light consistency so that they do not burden the skin, because this way they can emphasize wrinkles even more.

Apply the foundation gently - soft sponges, e.g. a beauty blender, work well here, another solution is a flat brush. A brightening concealer can be used under the eyes and on the eyelid, i.e. where the skin is very thin and flaccid. Use it especially where bruising is visible.

Worth knowing

When applying makeup for mature skin, remember two rules: precision and moderation. Too much cosmetic, instead of covering it up, will emphasize imperfections and emphasize wrinkles. So apply the preparations with sensitivity, thin layers. Do it very carefully. Unevenly applied foundation will collect in all folds and wrinkles and create unsightly stains. This can be avoided by, for example, a make-up sponge.

Third step: contours

Along the cheekbones, on the temples and sides of the forehead, as well as around the jaw, apply the shadow with, for example, a contouring pencil, which then rub with a sponge. A bronzer applied with a brush will also work here. The color stain you make should be delicate, perfectly rubbed, so that it imitates the shaping shadow and emphasizes the cheekbones and the oval of the face.

Fourth step: finish

Blusher - it makes us look fresh, radiant, thanks to it we can take our years off. We apply it with a light, slightly compact brush in the center of the cheek at the tops of the cheekbones, but not reaching the nose. For women over 50, golden, apricot, sand, peach shades will be perfect, so all natural.

Finally, use loose powder, preferably transparent, that will match the color of the skin, mattify the complexion and give it a velvety smoothness. Apply it to the T-zone, i.e. the forehead, chin, nose area and cheeks. Warning! Do not apply large amounts of loose powder under your eyes as this will accentuate the wrinkles.

We apply bronzers and highlighters not only to the face, but also to the neck and décolleté, otherwise we get the effect of a tanned face, "cut off" from the rest of the body.

Step five: eye, eyebrow and lip makeup

Once you've finished the makeup of the face itself, it's time for your eyes, eyebrows, and lips. Remember:

Do not paint your eyebrows with eyeliner because you will get too intense effect. An eyebrow shadow and an eyebrow brush will be better.

Give up pearly eyeshadows - they are not very durable and emphasize wrinkles. You can use them in the corners of the eyes, near the nose.

On the eyelid, above the upper eyelash line, draw a slightly dark line, and under the lower eyelashes - a white highlighting line. This will optically enlarge the eye.

Do not use lipsticks with intense, dark colors on your lips. They may be elegant, but they age, make facial features very sharp.
