I did a hormone test for obesity and diabetes, everything turned out fine. I am a male 21 years old. The endocrinologist confirmed and said that everything was normal, just a slightly elevated cortisol, and that it had no effect on obesity. As for testosterone, she didn't quite know what to say, she only asked if I had ever visited a urologist and that it was rather normal. Testosterone 9.40 nmol / l (6.93-28.1 nmol / l), serum cortisol 27.80 µg / dl (2.5-25 µg / dl). Is such a testosterone result at such a young age good? Is it too short? Or is it the cause of recurrent obesity?
It is very difficult to interpret testosterone levels in men. Most specialists believe that the lower limit of total testosterone should be 11.1 nmol / L. Some people choose lower values as the lower limit. In case of doubt and in order to distinguish between hypo- and eugonadal men, a bioavailable testosterone test is performed or the FAI index is determined. Slightly elevated testosterone levels in the morning may be the result of stress or excess body weight.
