I read that a person with schizophrenia is more prone to diabetes, but does it also work the other way around? ie: hallucinations, memory and concentration disorders may be related to type 1 diabetes?

Diabetes mellitus may be more common in patients with schizophrenia - especially when treated with second-generation neuroleptics. Anything can have to do with anything, just the question - how important. Here, I think, there is no real relationship.

Note: memory impairment is a symptom of dementia, not schizophrenia, it may result from diabetic encephalopathy. It can also cause concentration disorders and impaired perception - hallucinations (especially when organic psychosis occurs).
