I have noticed a panic fear of death for some time. Most likely it is caused by vegetative neurosis as I have symptoms related to heart rhythm disturbances. I'm terribly afraid it could be caused by a brain tumor! I do not know what to do, because in the coming days I am going to work abroad. Is there a form of quick help from a specialist that would give me at least a minimal improvement, e.g. medication?

The fear of death is a typical symptom of neurosis, in which suddenly there are symptoms suggesting a threat to life. Such fear is paralyzing, it may not last long, but it evokes panic reactions and feelings of uncertainty: when will it come back? For the sake of order, please consult an internist or cardiologist, if you exclude a cardiac matter - give up further tests and contact a psychiatrist. The problem with your departure: a psychiatrist may recommend treatment that may bring improvement - but only in 2-4 weeks; medication would take much longer. I do not recommend going abroad with fear under your skin, unless you have a psychiatrist at your fingertips. You can also suppress anxiety with fast-acting anxiolytics - the catch is that they should not be used for a long time because they are addictive. Regards!
