Planned Caesarean section, or elective section, is performed for many reasons. The doctor divides the indications for an elective cesarean into unconditional and resulting from the stage of the mother's disease. Usually, a planned caesarean section takes place earlier than the physiological delivery - most often the term caesarean section is scheduled for the 39th week of pregnancy.

Planned Caesarean section( elective section ) is an increasingly common way of terminating a pregnancy. Why? Because with the advancement of medicine, the risk associated with the operation itself is lower and lower, and the number of indications for cutting increases. It's just that doctors choose the best solution that allows you and your baby to be he althy. The decision that your baby will be delivered by caesarean section is sometimes made several days, and sometimes several weeks before the expected delivery date.

Planned emperor: unconditional indications

  • placenta previa, i.e. located right at the mouth of the cervix (obstructs the baby's way in the birth canal, preventing
  • out into the world);
  • incorrect position of the child (when the leading part, i.e. the one that is to come out first, is not the head, but e.g. the buttocks or feet);
  • double caesarean section in obstetric interview (i.e. in this patient);
  • multiple pregnancy: always in the case of triplets, quadruplets, etc., and in a twin pregnancy - when at least one child is in a position other than the head;
  • labor disproportionate, i.e. a situation where the baby is large and the mother's pelvis - narrow.

Planned emperor as a possible solution

Some diseases are also indicated for caesarean section - here, however, each situation is considered individually, taking into account the stage of the disease. And so the indication for a caesarean may be:

  • hypertension
  • circulatory problems and cardiovascular diseases
  • degeneration and acute spine pains
  • conditions after pelvic and lower limb injuries
  • retinal diseases
  • some mental he alth conditions
  • Certain infections such as HIV or genital herpes from the mother.

Such indications can beof course, must be diagnosed already pregnant and plan the operation several weeks in advance, including the appointment of an exact date.
