Bear ointment can be useful for people who suffer from joint, muscle, bone and rheumatic pain, because due to the ingredients it contains, it can have a warming or cooling effect. What natural herbal extracts and essential oils does bear ointment contain? When and how to use it?
Warm bear ointmentmay slightly differ in composition depending on the manufacturer, but usually contains, among others

These ingredients affect the nerve endings on the surface of the skin, causing a feeling of warmth, and sometimes it may also be slightly red.
It only proves that the preparation started to work, because it affects the blood supply to the tissues - it widens the walls of blood vessels, reduces inflammation, therefore it quickly and effectively relieves muscle and joint pain and back pain caused by e.g. overload of the spine.
The selection of ingredients in the warming bear ointment is not accidental, because each of them fulfills a specific function.
And so, for example, camphor has a warming, anti-inflammatory and anesthetic effect, eucalyptus extract also warms, additionally alleviates the symptoms of rheumatism, brings relief from neuralgia of various origins, while ginseng not only adds energy, but also protects on bone tissue.
Yarrow, lemon balm and common hops have anti-inflammatory properties. Hops extract is also used in the treatment of radiculitis and rheumatic pains.
The essential oils contained in the ointment are not without significance, as they have a relaxing effect and at the same time reduce the symptoms of fatigue.
Bear's ointment: relaxing effect
The warming bear ointment is better known and is still more often used than the cooling bear ointment, which is also available on the market.
This one, in turn, contains, among others,
- mint
- Chinese mint
- arnica
that's why it will work well with muscle tension and strain, e.g. after exercise and with contusions,post-traumatic edema or small hematomas.
Its pro-he alth effect is due to the ingredients it contains: Chinese mint reduces the tension of smooth muscles, and arnica extract strengthens the walls of blood vessels, accelerates the absorption of bruises and hematomas.
Similar to the warming ointment, the cooling ointment also has an analgesic and relaxing effect on the muscles, which is why it quickly brings a feeling of relief and relaxation.
Bear's ointment: for whom?
Bear's ointment is recommended for people who practice sports, because it is most often used to warm up or cool down muscles, joints or back after intense, strenuous physical exertion, e.g. when overload or overtraining occurs.
Sometimes active physical people also use it before training to warm up the muscles faster.
But bear's ointment is also recommended for the elderly who struggle with joint pain caused by rheumatic diseases.
Systematic use of the warming bear ointment makes the joints less stiff, which reduces pain.
The ointment should be applied in accordance with the package leaflet, i.e. usually a small amount of the preparation should be gently massaged into the skin 2-3 times a day.
It should not be used on an area larger than 30%. body, even if we use bear ointment for massage.
It is best to use it only in the place of pain.
Bear's ointment: contraindications
As with all types of ointments based on herbal extracts and essential oils, a contraindication to their use is an allergy to any of the ingredients.
It is best to start applying the ointment on a small area of the skin and wait for any disturbing allergic reaction of the body.
You must not use the ointment on the skin with pathological changes, e.g. on fresh wounds, eczema, you must also be careful not to get the ointment near the nose or eyes.
It should not be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
