Five days ago I had my bottom eight removed. The doctor said she was "covered in bone" and was in the number seven. The procedure hurt more than the other 3 eights stopped. The hole has been stitched. Only today I have swollen, but on the jawbone near the hole I have a kind of growth, very hard and painful, and bruising. On the other hand, on the gum, next to the tooth hole, you can feel a sharp tip from the inside. The pain is still excruciating, I can't do it without Ketanol. The wound itself looks good, it is not bleeding, it is not festering, there is a whitish coating, something like epidermis, so I suppose it is a rebuilding epithelium. But I don't like the pain, the growth, and the swollen esophagus. Is it all as it should be? I am afraid that it may be a dry socket, because unfortunately I smoke cigarettes. I did not smoke 48 hours after the procedure, but now I smoke. I know this delays the healing process, but could this be causing the problems?
The tan white coating is a clot that protects against a dry socket. The doctor certainly told you how to care for oral hygiene after such surgery. This growth could be a piece of bone plaque. This can happen when chiselling. It may take a long time for you to feel the pain, but if your pain gets worse, you will need to see a dentist who will give you a pain reliever. You are aware that smoking delays healing and may cause complications after the procedure.
