Time is often short for travel, but when you reach your age it's easier to find it. Then you can explore the world! Europe is open, it is becoming easier to travel to exotic regions or to countries that have only recently opened up to tourists. We've selected 10 travel destinations perfect for all ages, especially 60+.

1. Portugal

Increasingly popular tourist destination, but there are still no crowds there. Relatively low prices are also an advantage - especially compared to neighboring Spain or Italy.

Travelers often pay attention to the pleasant nature of the Portuguese - it is a nation a bit calmer than its Mediterranean neighbors. In Portugal, we can admire beautiful cities on the hills, especially Lisbon and Porto. But in fact, every smaller city has something to be proud of. The numerous beautiful beaches that are not yet crowded with tourists also speak in favor of Portugal.

Another plus: a diet rich in fish and seafood, and therefore very beneficial to he alth. Apparently, the Portuguese can prepare the national cod (bacalhau) in 365 ways, which is as many as days a year. It is also worth remembering that Portugal is not only land, but also islands - the beautiful Azores, which are yet to be discovered, or Madeira - better known, known as the island of eternal spring (pleasant climate without heat!).

Visiting Portugal requires quite a good shape, because there are many hills and hills in it. Fortunately, an extensive, efficient public transport system comes to the rescue - with the famous yellow trams in Lisbon at the forefront.

2. Italy

A very diverse country - there are paradise beaches, beautiful mountains, picturesque lakes and, above all, a lot of monuments. There are so many cultural wonders on the UNESCO list in no other country. Italy also needs no introduction, because it is a popular tourist destination. It is also easy to get there with low cost airlines.

It is worth enjoying not only the we alth of landscapes and monuments, but also the cuisine - one of the he althiest in the world! The Mediterranean diet is responsible for the relatively long life of Italians, despite the fact that they do not avoid stimulants.

Although we associate Italy mainly with pizza and pasta, each region has different speci alties, and the we alth ofthe sum of simple dishes (usually a few fresh ingredients) delights the most discerning gourmets.

For Italy, however, it is worth reserving more funds, because it is not a cheap country. Fortunately, seniors can count on discounts at museums and other tourist attractions. It is also easy to move around the country - the railway network is well developed. We will reach most of the attractive destinations by rail transport. However, you need to be aware of the huge crowds, so it's better to go to Italy in spring and autumn. Then it will also be possible to avoid the highest temperatures.

3. Ireland

A perfect destination for people who do not like the highest temperatures. The beauty of the green island can be explored in various ways - enjoy nature, admire high cliffs, and visit ancient monuments.

Traveling around Ireland does not cause any problems because the country has a well-developed public transport. You can also effortlessly move around larger cities, including Dublin, which is rich in attractions. Depending on the specific destination, you can also go on a short trip to Scotland or England.

4. Croatia

The territory of today's Croatia has a rich history and has changed its political affiliation many times. For many centuries they belonged to Venice, which can be seen in the beautiful architecture of such cities as Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar.

There are also natural wonders: a long coastline, mountains, lakes. And above all, holidays in Croatia are one of the cheapest in Europe. This country is therefore a good start for foreign journeys. The varied tourist offer allows you to find something for both active and blissful relaxation seekers. It is also worth remembering about Croatian spas!

5. Jordan

A recent hit with low-cost airlines that began flying to this country. And it's definitely worth it! Jordan's flagship attraction is the extraordinary city of Petra, once carved out of the rocks. In addition, the Wadi Rum desert, which became more widely known thanks to the character of Lawrence from Arabia, cannot be ignored.

Jordan is also a country of amazing spas and spas that will be appreciated by people of all ages - especially seniors. After all, it lies on the richly s alty Dead Sea, which is the most mineral-rich reservoir in the world (they account for as much as 30% of "content"). This reservoir is curedmainly various skin diseases, but also e.g. asthma. It is worth to hurry, because unfortunately the Dead Sea is getting drier.

6. Japan

A we althy Far Eastern country, economically developed and the land of longevity - practically every senior citizen will need a trip to Japan. The local society leads the world in terms of life expectancy. So it's good to get to know Japanese cuisine, and especially the mentality that allows you to live to a ripe old age in good he alth.

Especially recommendable is the island of Okinawa, which is a global phenomenon when it comes to the number of centenarians. This is due not only to a varied, nutrient-rich diet, but also a specific philosophy of life (the so-called ikigai).

The inhabitants of Okinawa - and people in other parts of Japan who follow their example - try to stay cheerful, find a life purpose, harmony, and do not neglect contacts with nature.

What about outside Okinawa? Lots of attractions await both in big cities and more rural landscapes. In addition, there are hot springs counted in the thousands - you can meet them almost everywhere. Therefore, it is worth taking as many beneficial thermal baths as possible, as well as taking advantage of unusual treatments, such as "bathing" in hot sand, i.e. sand SPA.

Something for lovers of the exotic and a great start when it comes to exploring Asia. You can pay much less for holidays in Thailand than in Japan (which is considered an expensive country), and in return you get a friendly, smiling society, cheap and varied food (lots of inexpensive, fresh fruit!), As well as numerous cultural attractions - for example ancient temples .

In Thailand, it is difficult to get bored, because it is a country that largely lives off tourism. Thanks to this, the offer is very diverse, as well as the possibilities of spending time in your own way. In this Asian country, you can also improve your he alth, because it is famous for both spas with thermal waters, as well as high-class SPA and biological regeneration rooms.

You can go to Thailand on your own (there is a direct air connection with Poland) or in an organized form.

8. Singapore

Another Asian destination - a city-state "stuck" to Malaysia. Also here you can fly directly from Poland, moreover, Singapore is a great base for trips to other Asian regions.

And why is this a good direction for people aged 60+? First of all, Singapore has a well-developed rail communication, so if necessary, you can move around efficiently and not tire your legs or spine excessively. Moreoveris very technologically advanced, which can be seen in virtually every sphere of life - it also helps the elderly.

And most of all, it is a cosmopolitan, dynamic country where various cultures and - what is important - tasty cuisines mix. There are also impressive, modern wellness centers.

The Caribbean region is of course very diverse, so you can choose a destination depending on your preferences. Cuba is gaining more and more popularity - a country that is gradually opening up to the world. And it is this transition state that can be very attractive.

Especially in the capital, Havana, a lot of "vintage" elements have been preserved in the form of décor, architecture or famous, decades-old cars - still running. Cuba can therefore be a kind of trip to the land of youth. It will also help revive her.

10. South Africa

In this country you can experience many interesting adventures, especially take part in a safari and watch the life of wild animals in their natural environment. It is also not a big effort for older people, because you spend practically all the time in the car.

There is no shortage of attractions and views! South Africa is also one of the most "western" and safe countries in Africa, so it is a good choice when it comes to the exoticism of the African continent. A popular destination is, for example, the seaside metropolis of Cape Town, where you can devote yourself to various outdoor activities or lazily rest on the beach.
