I am in the 13th week of pregnancy after the PAPP-A test, which unfortunately did not bring me good information. The ultrasound examination was normal: FHR 161 bpm, CRL 72, mm NT, 1.7 mm, Ductus Venosus 1.09 nasal bone present. Unfortunately, the biochemical results were as follows: Free beta hCG - 123.70 IU / I - 4.239 MoM PAPPA 2.389 IU / I - 0.738 MoM. Adjusted risk for trisomy 21 1: 192 What are the normal / normal values for PAPPA and secondly, could such a high free beta HCG result be related to my very low TSH result of 0.02 uIU / ml? I will add that the fT3 and fT4 results are correct. I am after seeing an endocrinologist who found that for some pregnant women this TSH result is so low. I will not decide on amniocentesis, this week I will do the Harmony test.
For the standards of laboratory tests, please ask in the laboratory performing the test. HCG stimulates the thyroid gland to produce hormones, which in turn lower TSH levels. The higher the HCG concentration, the lower the TSH can be. This only happens at the beginning of pregnancy. Later the HCG concentration decreases and TSH increases.
