Stress, of course, can make your muscles tense. Probably not the only one, but perhaps the main one. However, it would be advisable to take a closer look at what kind of stress it is and start working to eliminate its causes, not just its effects. Such "treatment" of symptoms is never sufficient, nor does it bring long-term effects. So I would advise you to pay more attention to the causes, how you react and how to deal with the individual profile of your stress. When it comes to muscle relaxation methods - you can find items devoted to such exercises in bookstores, buy a CD with them or sign up for appropriate exercises (yoga, tai-chi, relaxation).
