For over a year my boyfriend's time of falling asleep varies between 5-8 am, but when there is no more activity during the day, this time shifts, and sometimes when he only sleeps for an hour, because he has to go to the university or arrange other things, although he is terribly tired, he falls asleep at the same time, but he sleeps instead of 8 hours, as usual, 10 hours. I would like to help him, I can see that this problem bothers him terribly, because we have to meet in the afternoon, what is more, it affects his mental and physical well-being, he is often nervous. How could I help him? Where should we go, what should we do to eliminate this condition completely? He tried to take sleeping pills, turn off the light at the time he would like to fall asleep, or just lay down. However, this had poor results that did not persist. And for some time now, he has been complaining of pain around the heart, increased pressure and heart rate, especially after excessive exercise.

I advise you to visit a sleep disorder clinic as soon as possible, and if there is no such clinic in your city, then to a mental he alth clinic. You will probably also need an internal medicine and cardiology consultation, because - although the pains in the heart area are often neurotic - organic causes must always be ruled out. Taking sleeping pills - especially without a doctor's recommendation - will not eliminate the cause, so - if it helps - it will only be for a short time.

Remember that our expert's answer is informative and will not replace a visit to the doctor.
