Washing nuts instead of powder with phosphates, vegetables without pesticides, food without improvers - what is the connection with water without cyanobacteria? Huge. Cyanobacteria love phosphates, and these are found in washing powders and food production waste. Ecology is not a whim, but a necessity.

Every third child under the age of 14 dies due to the degradedenvironment- reports the World He alth Organization. There is nothing to wait for. You have to learn to live ecologically. The plague ofcyanobacteria , cancer, autoimmune diseases andallergiesdon't come from nothing. Scientific research shows that pesticides (plant pest control agents) and herbicides (a type of pesticide used to control weeds) build up in our bodies. A team of scientists from the Institute of Bacteriology and Mycology at the University of Leipzig under the supervision of prof. Monika Krueger, a group of people not related to agriculture - i.e. plant consumers - was lost. Deposits of pesticides and herbicides were detected in all of them. And these substances can damage our genome and increase our susceptibility to cancer.

Cyanobacteria grown on phosphates

Phosphates, which are in washing powders and are used as emulsifiers, acidity regulators and stabilizers (e.g. in cola and hard cheeses E-451 and E-452) provoke the growth of phytoplankton in water (e.g. cyanobacteria) . The sheepskins formed on the surface take oxygen from other organisms and disturb the ecological balance of lakes and seas. And they spoil our holidays and threaten us, for example with dermatitis, if we enter the water anyway, because some of the cyanobacteria are toxic. In addition, phosphates enter the organisms of the fish. For humans, excess phosphate in food is very harmful. It exposes us to calcium-phosphorus imbalance, which results in osteoporosis, besides, it disrupts the functioning of the nervous system, contributes to the development of allergies, lung cancer, and kidney failure. And phosphates are just one substance that gets into the environment under the influence of our activities.

How to run a green house

Ecologically doesn't have to mean expensive. It is up to us to lower the prices of ecological goods - food, cosmetics, cleaning products and even clothes. If we buy more such articles, we avoid mass production full of preservatives, dyes, artificial fertilizers, chemical fillers, conditioners and flavor enhancers - we will force producers to switch their production lines to greener ones. It takes some effort. First, gain knowledge and carefully follow the labels of your goods. We cannot get caught up in beautiful words: country bread, grandma's ham, he althy eggs, organic eggs, eggs from barn farming. You have to read the labels, analyze the composition, the content of different Es, read the stamps on the eggs - otherwise the producers will make us a balloon as before. And this is about our he alth and our children.

Nuts instead of powder, vinegar instead of cleaning fluid

Secondly, it is worth introducing changes in our daily activities. Washing nuts contain natural washing substances that are biodegradable and harmless to the environment. Put a few nuts in the bag into the washing machine drum and it's ready. For heavily soiled laundry, this may not be sufficient. But there are stronger liquids and washing powders containing natural detergents made from washing nuts, coconut or our doctor's soap. A great combination of nature and modern technology. Cleaning agents also do not have to contain aggressive ingredients. Vinegar and soda are great at removing dirt in the kitchen and bathroom. But you can also reach for ecological liquids, gels and powders based on natural ingredients. Also, buying organic cosmetics is not only about caring for our own skin, but also about the environment. The production of ecological cosmetics, at every stage - from the production and sourcing of ingredients to the final production of the cream or lotion and its packaging, is carried out with particular care for the environment.

Savings on water and electricity

Ecology is born from small steps. For example: if you turn off the water while brushing your teeth, you will save 9 liters per minute. When you turn off the TV, radio and CD equipment completely instead of leaving them on stand by, you will save 474 kWh per year. By insulating the house to reduce heat leakage or by investing in a house that not only retains but also recovers heat, you will enormously reduce not only heating bills, but also electricity consumption, and thus the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere.
