A diet for the stomach flu is necessary. At the beginning of stomach flu, it is difficult to swallow anything. After that, the diet should be easy to digest, because intestinal flu affects the mucosa of the digestive tract. We introduce food slowly and gradually. How to deal with stomach flu?

A diet for stomach flushould be easy to digest.Stomach flualso called intestinal flu requires following indications as in case of food poisoning. You may not eat anything for the first 1-2 days of stomach flu. You need to drink: lukewarm still water, tea (unsweetened), herbal teas of mint, chamomile, calendula or sage and electrolytes dissolved in water, i.e. mineral mixtures that we buy at the pharmacy. As the symptoms subside, you can also introduce vegetable drinking broth cooked on fresh vegetables.

Stomach flu - diet

When diarrhea and vomiting have stopped, we introduce gruel to the diet. Rice or semolina, necessarily boiled in water, without the addition of fat. Then we introduce rusks and remember to drink a lot all the time. Warm vegetable stock is very good.

Stomach flu. We cook light meals

After 2-3 days after the symptoms have ceased, you can start eating light cooked meals: soft-boiled egg, cooked meat (preferably turkey or veal, there may also be chickens, but without skin). Meat is good to prepare steamed, it has a better taste than if boiled in water. Boiled potatoes can also land on the plate.

A light diet for a few more weeks after the stomach flu

Slowly return to the normal diet, but turn on the individual products gradually. We enrich the diet with boiled vegetables, e.g. carrot and beetroot puree. We can reach for baked fruit, e.g. an apple. We turn on the white cheese, yoghurt, and chicken or poultry and beef broths. It is worth starting to eat groats, e.g. barley, millet, then buckwheat and bread. For a longer period, up to 3 weeks after gastric flu, in the diet, we should avoid products that are hard to digest, flatulent and those that may irritate the intestinal mucosa: fried and smoked meat and fish, all kinds of canned food (even peas or canned corn) and marinades. also avoid legumes (beans, peas, broad beans) andcruciferous (white and red cabbage, Chinese cabbage and Brussels sprouts as well as cauliflower, broccoli and kohlrabi).
