3 years ago I was in Spain. I had a nightmare: for almost 2 months I was struggling non-stop with terrible herpes eruptions. I returned to Poland, went to a dermatologist and started to be treated with HEVIRAN. Initially, I took the pills as recommended. Later, prophylactically for over a year, 2 tablets a day. However, when I had subsequent lesions, I was already taking the strongest HEVIRAN 800 5-6 tablets a day. I stopped taking them last December. Now herpes appeared again, a few months after the last one. I try to fortify myself with vitamins, I drink CITROSEPT, multivitamins, and during periods of colds I use RUTINOSKORBIN and garlic. Actually, I don't know what to take to get stronger anymore. I have heard something about LONGO-VITAL. Maybe it would make me stronger? I treat herpes symptomatically with ZOVIRAX and stick COMPEED slices, but I don't think they help. Could you advise me on some symptomatic and prophylactic treatment to prevent relapses and strengthen myself? I am confused by the amount of products available. Actually, I don't know if some of them are only used to trick consumers. Thank you in advance for your answer. Regards.
Recurrent herpes is a huge therapeutic problem. Chronic maintenance therapy with Heviran usually produces good results. However, what you describe shows that it did not work for you. Of course, with each starting herpes it is worth using a topical acyclovir preparation, e.g. Vratizolin, Zovirax. You should also check if recurrent herpes is not a symptom of weakened immunity and consider a therapy that strengthens the immune system, of course under medical supervision. You can also consider the use of new generation antiviral drugs, such as: valaciclovir, famciclovir, penciclovir.
