During a series of free meetings, experts, incl. in the field of geriatrics, psychology and rehabilitation will share practical tips on how to support memory and how to deal with the daily challenges of memory impairment and diseases of old age. Participants will also be able to take advantage of free, individual consultations with a psychologist, during which he will provide support and tips to deal with specific difficult situations.
- We want to share with the elderly our knowledge and experience in supporting people suffering from diseases of old age and their carers. Many elderly people report to doctors with memory difficulties too late, believing that "at my age it is natural". Often, people from the closest environment also underestimate the symptoms, attributing them to the natural aging process. We see the need to raise the awareness of older people about the causes of memory disorders and to support people experiencing symptoms, says Karolina Jurga, an elderly psychologist and program coordinator.
This will be useful to youThe Medicover Foundation invites people over 60 years of age to participate in the meetingsfrom the Mazowieckie Voivodeship - in particular family carers of the elderly suffering from memory disorders (including Alzheimer's disease), as well as people who are directly struggling with the disease or are interested in the subject of the classes.
Meetings are held at the Geriatrics and Treatment of Chronic Diseases Center in Warsaw , ul. Nowolipie 18. They will be led, among others, by Dr. Milena Słoń, specialist geriatrician and content consultant for the program, and Karolina Jurga, psychologist andprogram coordinator. The next meeting is on October 7.
