Winter baby care requires that you pay special attention to protection from the cold. What cream should I protect my child's mouth with before going for a winter walk? How to bathe them if it's cool at home? Here's what you should know about winter care.
What's the differencechildcare in winter ? Winter is a difficult time for baby skin, which does not tolerate frosty gusts of wind, but also dry indoor air. During the first months of life, it is very delicate. The lipid layer, which in later years will protect it from drying out, is still poorly developed, and the stratum corneum is too thin to adequately protect against wind or irritation. Therefore, in winter you need to take care of it especially carefully.
Never enough moisture
When the radiators heat up to the fullest extent, not only the air in the room is dry, but also the baby's skin. So you need to moisturize it carefully. This task is best achieved by baby moisturizing creams. Use them in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, lubricating the baby's face and body at least once a day. You can also apply a thin layer of cream on the baby's lips (but not to let it get into the mouth). To prevent additional drying of the skin, bathe the toddler for a maximum of 5 minutes (a longer stay in the water affects the lipid layer of the epidermis). You can pour a little moisturizing bath lotion from the line for babies into the water, a few drops of olive oil or a dose of emollient, which replenishes the lipid deficiency in the epidermis. Also, remember to put a special liquid into the baby's nose. It will moisturize the mucosa and dissolve dried secretions, making it easier to remove, especially if the child has a runny nose

Winter walks with a baby
In winter, it is not worth giving up walking, unless the temperature drops below minus 10 ° C or a strong wind blows. Before you leave the house, however, cover your toddler's face and hands with baby cream. If it is cloudy and cool outside, it should be a cream that protects against wind and frost. If the day is frosty but sunny, you should use a sunscreen that includes a sunscreen. Babies' skin contains very little melanin (natural pigment) and is therefore virtually defenseless against the sun. A hazelnut-sized amount of cream, gently apply to the skin and pat lightly. The cosmetic should not be rubbed, because rubbing may damage the delicate blood vessels in the skin. Also put the cream on the baby's lips.
