Hello, I will start with the fact that I am 24 years old, I am a vegetarian, I have been running almost every day for 6 years, about 3 km in winter and 7 km in summer. The exceptions are days when I'm sick, I'm so tired that I won't be able to run, or I have to do something that can't be postponed to another day. I don't eat meat at all, but mostly fish, vegetables, fruit, brown bread and sometimes casseroles or pizza. I drink 2 glasses of water unusual. But every day I have to drink at least 2 cups of instant coffee. I don't smoke cigarettes and rarely drink alcohol. I try to live a he althy life as much as possible. As for my summer jogging, I can run even 13 km every day. Running is a pleasure for me, but also a way to keep weight. The problem arises when I stop running. When I don't run for 4-5 days, I start to feel bad, meaning lifeless, as if I have 10 years or more. I am heavy and sleepy. Is this condition related to my diet? Please reply.

Your change in well-being is related, as I understand it, to your break in running. It is possible because the body gets used to training and to its lack it can react as you describe, i.e. sleepiness, lack of energy to live, apathy. Especially in cases where training is performed systematically and quite intensively. Exercise affects the secretion of endorphins, i.e. hormones responsible for well-being, as well as all biochemical processes that take place in our body. Nutrition also affects our well-being, especially if we train intensively. Regardless of whether we are vegetarians or not, remember that the provision of fast-absorbable protein, carbohydrates and minerals contributes to the regeneration of muscles after training. For this purpose, you can use carbohydrate and protein supplements, thanks to which we contribute to the rebuilding of the losses suffered and we better prepare the body for the next portion of exercise.
