On April 14, the 5th Narrow Gauge Run will be held on the route Karczew, Otwock, Józefów. This year, the event will be held under the slogan: "For 100 Years of Independence, Singing Independence Run". Not only a sports competition, but also numerous attractions await the participants: a performance of the Polish Army Representative Choir, shows of reconstruction groups, a retro fashion competition and a concert of Ignacy Paderewski's music. We invite you to participate!

Take part in the 5th Narrow Gauge Run!The event takes place annually in the following towns: Karczew, Otwock and Józefów. The run is organized by the Student Sports Club "Akwinata Team" with the involvement of local governments and social organizations, integrating the community of the Otwock poviat and more.

Honorary patronage over the event was taken by the Starost of Otwock County, the Mayor of Otwock and the Mayors of Karczew and Józefów.

Select your distance

The participants of the run will compete on routes with a length of 3 km and 10 km (main run). The route is marked by the route of the now defunct Karczewsko-Jabłonowska Narrow Gauge Railway.

There will also be runs for children at distances of 50, 150 and 400 m. Everyone will also be able to take part in a Nordic walking tour. In previous years, the competition was attended by competitors from all over Poland, as well as from abroad.

Attractions of the 5th Narrow Gauge Run

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, the organizers of the Narrow Gauge Run have planned a number of additional attractions for adults and children. Among others:

  • demonstrations of reconstruction groups, including the reconstruction of the military camp of the 2nd Polish Army Corps of General Anders;
  • singing patriotic songs together with the Polish Army Representative Choir;
  • symbolic arrival at the site of King Sigismund the Old's competition on the occasion of granting the city of Karczew civic rights;
  • symbolic arrival of Ignacy Paderewski;
  • Narrow-gauge picnic with military pea soup, sausages and tea;
  • after the run, a piano concert with Paderewski's music, en titled "Let's welcome independence";
  • during the concert break, the 1910-1918 fashion show prepared by the Fashion Reconstruction Group AssociationFormer.

AnnualNarrow Gauge Runis an event to commemorate and popularize knowledge aboutJabłonowsko-Karczewska , launched in 1914.
