Last weekend, the last two editions of the Runmageddon series in the 2015 season took place on the heaps of the KWK Sośnica mine in Gliwice. have completed at least 2 events, participated in the Grand Final of the Runmageddon League. A very interesting and demanding obstacle course awaited everyone, the completion of which was a real challenge for each participant! The next Runmageddon season will start on November 7 at the Wola Hippodrome in Poznań.
On October 24 and 25, mine heaps in Gliwice were taken over by fans of, among others, running on mud, wading in water, crawling under entanglements and climbing walls. The first to face the extreme obstacle course were the participants of Runmageddon Rekrut, which took place on a 6-kilometer route with 30 different obstacles. To get to the finish line, you had to overcome, among others car wrecks, railway wagons, steep heaps, as well as an obstacle with the all-saying name "Tesla", which shocked the players with electricity! The conditions on the route were extremely difficult also due to the rain falling on the day before the competition, which made the route full of mud. How difficult it is to run on such a surface is best evidenced by the fact that a dozen or so participants had to look for their shoes already in the first 100 meters, and some lost their shoes on the route and reached the finish line … barefoot!
In such conditions, the fastest rider on the Recruit route wasVolodymyr Khomenkofrom Warsaw, who reached the finish line after 6 kilometers in 00:52:11. The fastest woman wasIzabela Ślubuchfrom Skoczów, who took 00:59:29 to deal with a demanding challenge. In the team classification, the teamCFO eXtreme teamfrom Dąbrowa Górnicza was the best in the team classification. However, the most numerous team was represented by the representatives of the hosts - Night Runners Śląsk, in the colors of which 152 people set off on the route.
Grand Final of the Runmageddon League
Sunday's competition was reserved for the best of the best and the toughest of the tough ones who ran in the Grand Final of the Runmageddon League. The right to start in this race belonged to the competitors who scored at least 5 points throughout the season, so they took part in everyat least two editions of Runmageddon. Nearly 500 people stood at the starting line, competing for the title of the best Runmageddon player in the 2015 season on the 10-kilometer route. There were over 50 obstacles waiting for them, including among others A 60-meter slide and an Indiana Jones XXL obstacle, which was to be overcome by crossing to the other side using only a rope. A great attraction and an unforgettable experience for the participants was the necessity to cover part of the route with a 150-meter long train, the so-called by zip-line. The last obstacle on the route of the Grand Final of Runmageddon were players from the American football team - AZS Silesia Rebels Katowice.
The winners of the Grand Final, and thus the best Runmageddon riders in the 2015 season, wereGrzegorz SzczechlaandMagdalena Szulc , who took respectively at 1:26:28 and 1:44:49. It is worth emphasizing that Magdalena Szulc was second in Saturday's Recruit, and she suffered a serious hand injury during this start. However, this did not prevent her from winning the Final.
"Congratulations! You rocked! Mega demanding route: crawling in pipes, electric obstacle, climbing heaps, diving in the ice - oh, it was happening! And you bravely and determined you reached the finish line. Cool! We love to watch you soaked in the mud, from under which only your teeth are grinning in a smile! Thanks for these emotions. You give us the motivation to continue to make your life pleasant on routes all over Poland. As for Sunday's Runmageddon Final, we did not manage to trim the route of this edition to equal 10 km and 55 obstacles. We tried, we tried, but it turns out we can't! I take it upon myself - I select only madmen for the Runmageddon team, so taming them enough for you to survive the event for the most part is quite a challenge. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who decided to face their own weaknesses today. We closed the 2015 season with the Silesian edition of Runmageddon, but this does not mean that this is the end of extreme running this year! Already today, I cordially invite you to Poznań, where on November 7 at the Wola Hippodrome, Runmageddon, with the Recruit version, will inaugurate another season of obstacle running, "said Jaro Bieniecki, President of Runmageddon.
Runmageddon Games
Parallel to the Runmageddon events, there was a competition in the Runmageddon Games competition held on a 200-meter obstacle course. Among the 10 obstacles on the track were, among others high walls, flip tires, buckets filled with sand, and ropes. Competitors started simultaneously afterprepared tracks, competing against time and the opponent running nearby. The stakes were high, as the prize pool for the winners was PLN 2,000.

The next Runmageddon competition will be held on November 7 at the Wola Hippodrome in Poznań. There, for the first time in Wielkopolska, a new season of obstacle runs will be inaugurated with the Recruit version. On November 14, also for the first time, this time in Giżycko in Masuria, the Runmageddon Games Final will be held. The finals of the finals for the best of the best with a prize pool of over PLN 10,000.
