Hematite is a black stone, which, however, has been associated with blood red for centuries. How does hematite affect the human circulatory system and does it also have other healing properties?

Hematiteis a semi-precious stone, chemically - iron oxide, which can take various forms: from crystals, through dripstone, to spherical. In nature, it is black and very dark brown, but when powdered it turns out to be red.

After polishing, it acquires a metallic glow with rainbow hues.

Hematite is found all over the world, mainly in Australia, Brazil, Canada, USA and Europe, e.g. in Great Britain or Austria.

Hematite - relationships with blood

The name of the stone comes from the Greek words "haema", meaning "blood" and "haimatites" - bloody.

In many cultures the name of this stone had the same origin - in Poland it is also called yarrow.

The association of hematite with blood was simple - its powdered form is blood red.

Nowadays we also know that this stone in 70 percent. it consists of iron, which is also a constituent of human blood.

No wonder that the healing properties of hematite began to be associated with blood in the Middle Ages.

Among the medics of that time, it was used to treat hematological diseases (e.g. healed anemia by improving iron absorption), but also to stop it in small wounds and severe hemorrhages, also in inhibiting excessive menstrual bleeding.

Modern specialists in non-conventional methods believe that hematite also regulates hypertension and increased heart rate.

According to lithotherapists, hematite also affects other types of ailments: it prevents muscle cramps, urinary tract diseases, heals spine ailments and eye diseases (rinsing eyes with water in which hematite is soaked helps), helps with insomnia.

Hematite - the stone of warriors

In ancient times, hematite was the favorite stone of warriors. It symbolized strength, courage and tenacity. Therefore, he was the amulet of every soldier who wanted to be brave, have a strong will, overcome difficulties and not give up in combat.

Hematite, due to the aforementioned connection with blood, was also supposed to add vitality and physical strength. Therefore, in the form ofpowder was used for ritual body painting before the fight.

Like a rock crystal, hematite is an energy-accumulating stone - thanks to this it introduces energy balance to the human body by taking away its excess or adding it - when it is lacking.

Thanks to this, it improves well-being and he alth. It also neutralizes earth and electromagnetic radiation as well as negative energy of e.g. water courses.

In order for hematite to act on our body, you can carry it with you in the form of jewelry or in your pocket. In order for it to fill up with energy, it is worth putting it in the ground or touching it with a rock crystal that will draw out negative vibrations from it.

It should not be washed, because contact with water may adversely affect its properties.
