I have had a problem with pulling the foreskin off for some time (during a shower or intercourse). The skin on it is very dry, rough, cracks are also visible in some places. I can pull the foreskin down about 1 cm, it still causes me a lot of pain. Lubrication with cream helps for 2-3 days, then the same happens. What could be causing this? Do I need to see a doctor?
Mr. Mark! The symptoms described by you most likely suggest mycosis of the sexual organ. Your partner probably also has it ( although she doesn't have to have symptoms). Successfully conducted treatment should apply to both partners at the same time. Oral medications (prescription) and topical clotrimazole ointments (over-the-counter) are given. The gynecologist looking after your partner should "provide" prescriptions for both of you. If you do not have a permanent partner, it is advisable to visit a dermatologist who will write out what you need. It should also be done by the primary care physician, but unfortunately he is often afraid of such problems. Regards
