I would like to purchase an abdominal cradle, but I don't know if this device is effective. Maybe traditional "crunches" are more effective?
The difference between traditional exercises and those performed with the help of the cradle is the positioning of the arms. In traditional exercises, the arms are usually braided behind the head. Such positioning often causes tension in the nape and neck area or overuse of the arms in the exercise by moving the elbows forward. In the cradle, the arms are based on a special frame, thanks to which we have greater comfort during exercise and better isolation of the working abdominal muscles. In my opinion, the difference in the effectiveness of the exercises is small, but the comfort of the exercises is better (comfortable positioning of the head on the pillow and the arms on the rack). If you do not have problems with the tension in the cervical spine and are able to perform the exercises correctly technically, this device is not very necessary for you.
