I have a problem: I am 15 weeks pregnant and for about 2 weeks, after some vomiting caused by pregnancy, I had the impression that something was beginning to stuck in my throat. At first I thought something was sticking there and teasing me, but it's been going on for 2 weeks and I can still feel it. I have problems swallowing saliva and food, sometimes I feel short of breath, generally it bothers me painfully. Please tell me if these could be thyroid related symptoms and - most importantly - can it be treated during pregnancy and could it affect my baby's he alth? I am asking for an answer, because I am terribly worried about my baby's he alth! Thanks in advance!

Hello, There is no need to examine the condition of the throat and esophagus as well as consult a gastroenterologist. The sooner the better. There may be many reasons for this - from stomach problems and reflux, to neurosis - which can be manifested in this way. It can also be a problem with the thyroid gland and its enlarged goiter, which gives you a choking feeling in your throat. It can also be the body's reaction to a lack of iron. Please pay attention to the circumstances under which this feeling intensifies the most, or maybe after eating food that was too sweet or sour? Or maybe after tea, coffee or even plain water? As you can see, there can be many causes, from improper nutrition, through long-term stress, which also causes such discomfort in the body. But you must not be nervous in advance, because it is harmful to the baby. Try a different diet, including paying attention to spicy spices. During pregnancy, we can safely treat our ailments, of course, without overdoing drugs and under the supervision of a doctor. It is a good idea to read the leaflets that come with your medicines carefully. Please also avoid stress, pregnancy does not have to be a series of torments, it should be a unique experience that will be remembered throughout your life. It's good to stroke your tummy and talk to your baby, you can even hum lullabies. This will soothe the baby and relax the future mother. Don't watch stressful movies and go to bed early. The more calm there is in you, the calmer the baby will be after it is born. And don't worry - you'll be fine. Regards
