National consultant prof. Agnieszka Mastalerz-Migas announced during a joint press conference with the Minister of He alth, Adam Niedzielski, that the drug called Molnupiravir is now available in Poland.
The preparation is available to a specific group of patients. - So far, in a small number of doses and these doses have been directed to cancer patients as patients of the highest risk - informed prof. Agnieszka Mastalerz-Migas.
Mastalerz-Migas reassures that "soon there will be more oral medications that will support the treatment of patients in the early stages of COVID-19." What's more, according to experts, drugs for COVID-19 "can be used at the level of primary he alth care, especially in groups at risk of severe course (…) in patients in the early stages of the disease."

Prof. Mastalerz-Migas also emphasized that in the case of using drugs, it is very important to include them early in treatment, because the so-called the therapeutic window is only 5 days from the onset of the symptoms of infection.
