Electric bicycle support, which replenishes fitness deficiencies, can therefore encourage activity and facilitate return to training for the elderly, after injuries and orthopedic surgeries, even those who, due to their age and ailments, did not exercise regularly. Riding an electric bike is recommended by diabetologists to patients with type 2 diabetes, because this type of training not only helps to burn calories, but also improves the absorption of glucose from the blood and prevents insulin resistance in tissues. Diabetologists, however, make a reservation that anyone who has not exercised before should consult their attending physician before starting training.
Accident risk
For all its advantages, however, an electric bicycle requires some precautionary measures as it increases the risk of an accident. Older, less fit people may have problems with controlling the vehicle when they develop a higher speed using power steering. During a fall, the head is particularly vulnerable to injuries, so riding with a helmet is an absolute must. It is also worth getting knee and cycling padsgloves.
