  • STAGE I - you can drink fluids for the first 2-3 days after the treatment. As an exception, gruel can be served, preferably based on rice or semolina
  • STAGE II - for the next 11 days, the patient should be given only fragmented meals, i.e. mixed, rubbed or ground
  • STAGE III - in the period from 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure, an easily digestible diet is required
  • STAGE IV - 4 weeks after the surgery, you can go on a low-calorie diet (with reduced fat and sugar in the diet)

Diet after gastrectomy - what can you eat?

The basis of the diet after gastrectomy is a wholesome, lean protein (about 1.5-2 g per kilogram of body weight, i.e. about 100-120 g of protein per day), preferably in the form of lean meat, fish, eggs , skimmed milk and its products. There should also be carbohydrates (only in the form of wheat bread and small groats) and fats (only those that are easily digestible, e.g. olive oil), but their consumption should be limited.

Fruits and vegetables are also on the menu, but only those peeled and cooked. It is best to give them to a sick person, shredded and sawn. In turn, raw fruit and vegetable juices should be diluted with water (because they contain too much fiber). From liquids, in addition to water, juices and mineral water, green tea and weak fruit teas are also allowed.

The diet after gastrectomy also implies the exclusion of sweets. The exception is biscuits, which can be eaten in moderate amounts. Desserts are also allowedstale yeast dough, kissels, mousses and jellies.
